I can't find that code that needs editing.  How do I go about finding it so I can get rid of this double excerpts?

SOLVED IT!

Disclaimer: please make a backup of your files before editing them, so you can restore them later if anything falls apart. I will not be held responsible for you not backing up the original files. This modification is unofficial and completely homemade. It worked for me, but I cannot guarantee it to work elsewhere, so please make a backup.

Look for the file "featured1.php" (typically /wp-content/themes/producer/includes/featured1.php)

Find this piece of code:

<p><?php echo "$rcsspthec";?>[<a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark"><?php echo $excerptsreadmoretext;?></a>]</p>

And remove the following:

<?php echo "$rcsspthec";?>

That's calling the excerpt again, even though it has been called before in the same file. Leave the rest, as it's the [Read More] link. So leave the line as:

<p>[<a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark"><?php echo $excerptsreadmoretext;?></a>]</p>

That will leave one excerpt and a [Read More] in a separate paragraph. You can customize that, of course.

Please make a backup before editing that include file!

This bug is supposedly fixed in version 2.1.9.8 – but the zip is nowhere to be found!

Hello:

The excerpt appears twice for all three posts in category 1. I've tried several things including,

- deleting the excerpt (but then the first few lines of the post are displayed twice), and

- deleting and recreating the post (but the excerpt still displays twice)

Can you help with this?

Also, I tried the instructions for the "Producer double tagline fix" but couldn't find the folder you're referring to (ie. "Producer theme folder in wp-content/themes/producer/includes/blocks").

I am new to WordPress so if you could give me the path (ie. Appearance>Editor>404 Template>etc) to the folder you're referring to, that'd be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
