Featured category #2 category selection not sticking.

All else of this theme seems to be working fine.

The issue is in the theme Admin area. I can select a category for Featured category #2 and after updating, the them does display the correct category in that area. However, upon return to the theme Admin area Featured category #2 will not show the selected category, instead will have "select a category" in the selector, so if any changes are made and updated, category #2 will lose it's setting.

So, every time an update is made to this theme's adminstration settings, I have to reselect the category choice for Featured #2 before I save the changes. This is the only selection box that is having this problem, all other category choices and settings are sticking.

This issue occurs with either an unmodified version of the theme or with a modified version I created (mainly style changes)

Hopefully there is a known solution to this.

Is there some fix for this?

Or maybe you can point me to a solution…

Using News Magazine Theme 640 v1.7

Testing this theme on Wampserver, PHP5.2.6, Apache 2.2.8, and MySQL 5.0.5, and WordPress 3.0.1

Both IE8 and Firefox 3.6.8 are being used.
