Producer can be set to magazine mode or blog mode. This just means you can have a standard blog look with standard sidebars and standard content area or you can have a “magazine” style where you have thumbnails and excerpts from multiple featured categories on the home page.

The drop down that accompanies this option has two values: on, off. “On” means you are running in magazine mode. “Off” means you are running in standard blog mode.
