Producer theme error Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ – now can’t log in
If you have activated the Producer theme on your site and you are now having problems accessing your WP dashboard because of an error stating
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’, expecting ‘(‘ in /homepages/40/d231101531/htdocs/ibraryguy/wp-content/themes/producer/functions.php on line 9
Or an error stating:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_BOOLEAN_AND, expecting ‘(‘ in …/wp-content/themes/Producer/functions.php on line 11
your site is not currently compatible with the available version of the Producer theme due to the version of PHP you are using.
Please download the copy of functions.php below and replace it with the one you currently have installed. It should enable you to login to your dashboard and activate a different theme. If you wish to use Producer please upgrade your version of PHP to at least version 5. If you are already using PHP 5 or higher please let us know.
Download new functions.php to fix Producer error

Thanks for this – but I’m confused! I’m running producer with Wordpress 2.9.1, with a MySQL5.0 database, but it still only worked after uploading your fix, above.
How does this relate to the version of php?
Thanks for a very interesting looking theme!
Best wishes
Chris
Chris, the functions.php that is used for the parse error on line 9 problem should not be considered a fix per se as it removes code that is needed to fix certain Internet Explorer display issues. Technically you can still use the theme but in IE 6 in particular there will be problems with the layout. A PHP4 compatible version will be uploaded shortly.
I got this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_BOOLEAN_AND, expecting ‘(‘ in /home/content/…/html/wp-content/themes/Producer/functions.php on line 11
I have run upgrade to PHP5 … It may take 24hrs to be upgraded.
Hope to use this theme soon. Thank you.
Babaji, thank you for reporting the error. If upgrading to PHP5 does not fix it please let me know.
Thanks for the update admin. I’ll just wait for the php4 version.
